De Pere, Wisconsin – Fox Cities Builders is excited to announce the completion of a new commercial construction project for WEL Companies, Inc., a leading name in the refrigerated trucking industry. This innovative facility is designed to honor the legacy and ongoing success of WEL Companies, showcasing a pivotal piece of its history.

Founded in 1975 by Bruce Tielens and his father Wally, and later joined by his brother Randy, WEL Companies (originally Wisconsin Express Lines) has grown into an industry leader in refrigerated trucking, offering both truckload and less-than-truckload services. With a commitment to putting people first and exploring possibilities, WEL Companies, Inc. has been a beacon of trust, stability, and dedication in the industry. Today, the company thrives under the leadership of CEO Bruce Tielens and his children, Chris, Dalton, and Sarah, who are actively involved in various aspects of the business.

The newly completed truck facility is more than just a building; it’s a tribute to the Tielens family’s vision and the enduring legacy of WEL Companies. It will serve as a space where visitors can appreciate the significant contributions WEL Companies has made to the transportation industry. A centerpiece of the facility is a meticulously restored 1972 K100 Kenworth Cabover with a 4 ¼ HP Caterpillar engine and a 13-speed transmission. This iconic truck, located a year ago in California and closely related to the original founding truck (within 200 serial numbers), symbolizes the humble beginnings and the rich history of WEL Companies. The truck participates in parades and community events, representing the company’s roots and the strong relationships built over the years.
