Incorporating design elements that increased cow comfort while alleviating stress was the main goal of the advanced 400+ animal facility Fox Cities Builders successfully designed and built for Jeff and Connie Horsens of Horsens Homestead Farms in Cecil.
“It’s all about cow comfort,” says Jeff Horsens. “Our cows are more comfortable laying down in our new stalls, things are easier to clean and we are getting better quality milk. Fox Cities Builders was very easy to work with,” he added. “They were open to new ideas—such as the “greenhouse panels” we incorporated in the building to maximize natural light—flexible with changes and then really impressed us with their attention to detail. Our new barn and herdsman’s office with adjacent calf and maternity areas increases efficiency. I’m very pleased!”
